A spectacular return to Nanaimo…

Blue Moon Marquee returned to the Harbour City, this time in a very different venue! Joined by David Vest as the opening act on April 17th, the pair added keyboardist Darcy Phillips to their stage set at the Port Theatre, presented by Nanaimo International Jazz Festival and Nanaimo Blues Festival. BMM visited Nanaimo as part of what seems to be a never-ending tour, on the heels of this year’s Juno Award nomination and last year’s Juno win, plus a new LP release. A great night marred only by a late-set head wound suffered by Jasmine in an excited moment playing multiple instruments, vocals… and a 'solo ‘dance-in-her-seat’ set’! They followed it up with an encore including David Vest and a whole lot of ‘Scream, Holler & Howl”. NIJFA was excited to partner, for the first time with long-time local presenters and promoters, Nanaimo Blues Festival Society. Don’t miss their annual August Festival.
